Sainik School Entrance Exam Overview:

The Sainik Schools Society (SSS) is a self-governing organization under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Sainik Schools are run by the Society. Sainik Schools are residential English-medium schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Cadets at Sainik Schools are prepared to enter the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and other officer training academies. There are currently 33 Sainik Schools across the country.

Sainik Schools accept students in Class VI and Class IX. Candidates are admitted based on their All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) performance.

Every year, approximately 25% of candidates admitted to the National Defense Academy come from Sainik Schools. Every year, 25% of all candidates from Sainik Schools are accepted by the National Defence Academy. The Sainik School Society, an autonomous organization, has established these schools across the country under the supervision of the Ministry of Defense to educate students in a simulated military environment.

The curriculum of Sainik Schools:

• All Sainik schools are affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and the admission curriculum is consistent with the CBSE.
• NCC training is compulsory.

To prepare for:

• All India Secondary School Examination of 10th board
• All India Senior Secondary Certificate Examination of 12th board
• UPSC examination for admission to NDA and naval academy
